S. JASON CRAWFORD
Mr. Crawford is a former Assistant Attorney General for the
State of Alaska Department of Law, Transportation Section,
with experience in Contract, Tort, and Eminent Domain
Law. Prior to becoming an assistant attorney general, Mr.
Crawford was a Federal District Court Law Clerk for the U.
S. District of Alaska gaining significant exposure to federal
criminal law, insurance law, tort law, and more at the Federal
Court level between 2002 and 2004. Also, as a former Law
Clerk in the State Superior Court from 2001 to 2002, he
performed extensive legal analysis in many areas of both
criminal and civil law.
Mr. Crawford received his Juris Doctor Degree from J.
Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University, after
completing his undergraduate studies in International Relations
at Brigham Young University and the University of Alaska -
Fairbanks.
Mr. Crawford's areas of study and practice have focused
principally on Construction law and Contractor Consultation,
Contract Analysis and Drafting, Bankruptcy, Family Law,
Estate Planning, including preparing Wills and Trusts, and
Probate matters. He is currently licensed to practice law in
the States of Alaska and Utah.
DEREK R. AVERETT
Mr. Averett graduated cum laude from J. Reuben Clark Law
School, Brigham Young University, where he received his
Juris Doctorate degree. Derek received his undergraduate
degree in Electronic Engineering Technology (Information
Technology), and has personal experience and an extensive
background in construction in Alaska.
Mr. Averett was a law clerk for the honorable Judge Olson in
the Fairbanks Alaska Superior Court before joining Crawford
Law Offices. While acting as a law clerk, Derek performed
legal analysis in criminal law, family law, and other civil
areas. His areas of practice have focused on bankruptcy,
DUI defense, construction law, family law, adoption, as well
as estate planning and probate matters.
Mr. Averett was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, where
he attended Lathrop High School, participating in basketball,
football, and track. Derek also enjoys snow-machining and
four-wheeling, as well exploring lesser known areas of Alaska.
